Global Ports Investments International has announced that it has appointed Mikhail Loganov as Chief Executive Officer effective 22nd March 2017. Mr Loganov, who has been the Chief Financial Officer of Global Ports since October 2013, replaces Vladislav Baumgertner who has accepted a role outside the port industry and is stepping down, after around 20 months in post.
In addition, in February Tiemen Meester resigned as a Director of GPI and the Board elected Peder Sondergaard as a Director without pay until the next AGM (April 2017).
GPI is co-owned 37.5:37.5 by Russia's N-Trans and APM Terminals (with 25% public stock) and Peder Sondergaard was appointed Chief Portfolio Officer of APM Terminals in January 2017, with responsibility for all joint venture terminals and for future port investments and divestments, as well as overall portfolio management.
Die Welt recently reported that Richard Lutz is to become the new CEO of Deutsche Bahn following the surprise resignation of Rüdiger Grube in January this year. The official announcement is to be made on 22nd March at the meeting of Deutsche Bahn’s Supervisory Board.Rüdiger Grube, resigned earlier this year over a dispute with his contract.

Antwerp Port Authority has appointed Martin Hubenak as its new representative for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. He was formerly project manager with DB Schenker and logistics director of Viktovice Steel. The post is based in the Czech Republic. Later this year the port will appoint a regional director for Austria and Hungary.
