The Long Beach City Council has voted unanimously to confirm Mayor Robert Garcia’s appointments of Frank Colonna and Bonnie Lowenthal to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. Colonna and Lowenthal are both former City Council members. Colonna will fill the seat of Commissioner Doug Drummond, who was appointed to a partial term of four years in 2011 and was reappointed in 2015, with the intent to retire in August 2017. Colonna’s term runs into 2021. Lowenthal is appointed to a six-year term; she is replacing Commissioner Rich Dines, who joined in 2011. Harbor Commissioners are appointed by the mayor to a maximum of two six-year terms. The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has appointed Sam Joumblat as the port's Managing Director, Finance and Administration. He is returning the port after three years as CFO of Total Transportation Services, Inc.
Hamburg Port Authority has appointed Mathias Grabe as Joint Managing Director, responsible for operations. Herr Grabe joins from engineering company H F Wiebe GmbH & Co KG, where he served as Managing Director.
The Hamburg senate has appointed Christoph Braun as joint Managing Director of a newly-founded subsidiary organisation, Flotte Hamburg GmbH, where he will share responsibility with Karsten Schönewald. Herr Braun will join HPA on 1st August and will also be part of the management of CGH Cruise Gate Hamburg GmbH.

The Freeport of Riga Board has unanimously approved the appointment of Ansis Zeltins as port's CEO.

Markaryd, Sweden: Konecranes Lift Trucks has appointed Johan Bjerstedt as Global Sales Manager for the Konecranes Liftace line of products, acquired as part of the Terex MHPS acquisition at the start of this year. Up to now he has been involved with sales of the Konecranes SMV product line.
Rotterdam: Ron Kuijpers recently started as Director, Business Development Warehousing & Distribution at Broekman Logistics.
Mark Bromley has succeeded Fred Osborn as the elected National Chairman of the British International Freight Association, for a two-year period. Osborn becomes Immediate Vice-Chairman for a two-year term. Alongside him is John Stubbings, Group Director and Company Secretary of the Woodland group who was elected Vice-Chairman by the board. Sir Peter Bottomley, MP, remains as BIFA president.
London, England: DSV has appointed Kelly Dennis, based in Purfleet, Essex to head up its customer service team and to build on existing relationships with clients across the UK.
