Sennebogen recently supplied a model 830 E electric material handler to long-standing Dutch customer Buijs Groot-Ammers Overslag BV (BGVO) in
Veghel, replacing an 825 E that had clocked up 15,000 operating hours within a short period of time, reportedly without any problems. The company needed a bigger machine to unload raw materials for the local feed industry.
The electric drive, says Sennebogen, saves around 50% in OPEX compared to a diesel-powered machine. It is fitted with a pantographic Maxcab cab to allow the operator to optimise his view over the vessel. Routine service operations are carried out by BGVO, while Sennebogen’s local service provider Kuiken is available on short notice to supply spare parts and/or maintenance technicians.
Sennebogen recently delivered another electric-powered materials handler, a crawler-mounted 870 R-HD, to SRM Concrete at Hailey’s Harbor on the Tennessee River near Nashville (TN). This is used to load barges with sand, stone, gravel and salt using a 4 yd3 clamshell bucket, and is powered through a 200ft tether cable, giving the machine a good working range along the dock. The cab has a full glass floor, an important safety feature since employees often have to go into the barges. The machine also runs much more quietly than a diesel-powered machine. It was supplied through Sennebogen’s local dealer, Power Equipment Company.
