TTS snaps up Liftec

Denmark-based Novatech has announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with Briggs Equipment Ltd that makes Briggs its local partner for distribution and sales of its products in UK

TTS Ships Equipment has signed a contract to deliver a new slewing stern ramp and weathertight stern door for a second ship owned by the US Maritime Administration (MARAD). The contract, signed with ship manager Keystone Shipping Services, for CAPE RACE, follows the successful conversion of sister ship CAPE RISE, and includes an option for similar works on a third ship, CAPE RAY.

TTS Ships Equipment has won a record-breaking contract with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan.

We regret to report the death, at 56, of Jorma Mäkinen, a driving force behind the development of the translifter cassette system.

Ro-Ro 2004 in Gothenburg witnessed the successful demonstration of the world’s first, fully-automated, ro-ro cassette translifter. As reported in last month’s WorldCargo News (p1 and pp27-28), this has been developed by TTS Ships Equipment together with Liftec and Danaher Motion Systems Särö, within the framework of the EU Integration project.

The first public demonstration of the fully automated ro-ro cassette translifter for the EU-backed Integration project will take place in G�teborg on the first day of Ro-Ro 2004 on 25 May.
