Port of Le Havre reduces vibration for crane drivers
NewsGantrex Port Crane Services helped the Port of Le Havre reduce shock and vibration felt by crane drivers as the STS crane cabin passed over the boom hinge joint.
Crane turntables are expensive and curved rails are preferred for “90 deg turns.” This usually means cutting off the corner from access by the cranes, although at Ceres Paragon terminal in Amsterdam, straight tracks continue to near the end of the marginal wharf and the southern wharf of the indented dock via a points and crossover system (see WorldCargo News, May 2001, p28).
