UK, US, Australia sign supply chain resilience pact
NewsThe UK, the US, and Australia signed an MoU to form a trilateral group focused on strengthening supply chain resilience and risk management.
There are unconfirmed reports that Kalmar has won an order for 12 RTGs from South African Port Operations (SAPO) for Durban’s new Pier 1 container terminal, to which Liebherr will supply the quayside cranes (see WorldCargo News February 2006, p1).
Whether Kalmar or anyone else has won the order, it is highly significant. Up to now, SAPO has been a dedicated straddle carrierdirect operator. Indeed Kalmar is working on an order for 23 more straddle carriers, on top of the 53 that SAPO ordered last year.
