SC Ports cuts into delays at Charleston

Cargotec subsidiary Cargotec Port Security, LLC (CPS) has completed advanced container scanning trials at the United States Department of Energy Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This is one of two United States laboratories where national security nuclearrelated testing is conducted.
As previously reported, CPS’s spreader-mounted Radiation Detection System (RDS) previously completed formal performance evaluation between April 2008 and September 2008 at Charleston and Tacoma, both under the auspices of the US Customs and Border Protection Service, the US Department of Energy Megaport Program, and scientists from Pacific Northwest Labs, working on behalf of US Customs and Border Protection.
