Hydrogen RTG takes a bow
NewsThe “world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered rubber-tyred gantry” could be a better zero-emissions option for terminal operators at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach than ERTGs.
Japan’s Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MRS) is claiming that the eleven “hybrid” Paceco rubber-tyred Transtainers it recently handed over to Malaysian port operator PTP Tanjung Telepas will deliver fuel savings of 50% and cut emissions accordingly by 50% compared to conventional RTGs, as well as run at much lower noise levels.
