Chipolbrok, the Chinese-Polish shipping company which celebrates its 50th anniversary next month, is negotiating with Chinese shipyards to construct new geared tonnage.

The new ships will have three decks and the cranes will have a lifting capacity of up to 600 tons in twin operation. Delivery is slated for 2003/2004 for two newbuildings with an option for two additional units. The 30,000 dwt vessels will have wide, open hatches to accommodate project cargo such as railway rolling stock, trucks and heavy equipment.
