Seattle-headquartered SSA Marine, which took over Ceres Terminals in 2023, has now fully integrated the company into its own organisation and rebranded the latter’s facilities under the SSA Marine brand.

Carrix, which is the parent company of SSA Terminals in the US, is expanding in North America by purchasing most of the assets of Ceres Terminals.

Ceres acquires TraPac Jacksonville and agrees a new 20-year contract that allows it to handle multiple cargo types.

While APM Terminals is moving forward at Plaquemines Parish, the Port of New Orleans has not given up on building a new facility of its own in Violet, Louisiana – just three miles up the Mississippi River from the Plaquemines site.
