The latest report on cargo theft published by the TT Club and BSI Supply Chain Services and Solutions revealed that cargo is most vulnerable when it is in transit and being moved by truck. Trucks parked in unsecured lots were most at risk, while the highest median value of such thefts was in South America.
The Cargo Incident Notification System (CINS) and the International Group of P&I Clubs have published new guidelines for the carriage of seedcake in containers. This is because of the inherent risk that this type of cargo could heat up and selfcombust. The new advice is intended to ensure that this type of cargo is properly declared and packaged, and then carried safely.
