TACOM prototypes completed

Specialised reefer machinery manufacturer Klinge Corporation has completed the development of a prototype reefer unit for the US Army Joint Service Expandable Refrigerated Container System (JSERCS).

RFID solutions provider Savi Technology Inc, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, has reached a settlement with AeroScout Inc that resolves a lawsuit between the two companies concerning Savi’s patented low-frequency Radio RFID technology. Terms of the settlement, which was reached in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, were not disclosed.

A major boost to Savi Networks’ aim to build and operate a global RFID-based information network to track and manage containerised cargo has come with the South Korean government’s approval for Savi to use the 433.92 MHz radio frequency band for active RFID tags and readers.

The US Department of Defense has awarded Savi Technology, Inc a blanket purchase agreement to provide technical engineering services and integration software for all military branches trying to meet EPC-passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag policy requirements.
