Port Elizabeth rail line rehabilitation
A 340m-long rail track connecting the South African national network with Port Elizabeth’s container and car handling terminals is being rehabilitated. One line already serves the port, and state-owned transport utility Transnet wants to bring the second line back into use to encourage exporters to use the port. The rehabilitation is due to be completed by the end of November.
