40ft flexitanks in reefers

CMA CGM, which claims to be the second largest reefer carrier in the world, has expanded its service offering to include liquid cargo in a flexitank system. Its temperature-controlled system is called REEFLEX, and was developed in partnership with Teconja, a German expert in juices, and Liqua, an expert in packaging solutions for the transport of liquids.

New idea for flexitank transport

Container industry veterans Martin Clive-Smith and Brendan McKenna have teamed up to form Clive-Smith McKenna Ltd (CSM) and develop innovative transport solutions. Their first innovation is FlexiBin S3, a steel tray to improve the use of flexitanks in standard ISO containers.

Flexitank PAS available

A new international specification, aimed at improving the quality of flexitanks used for the transport of bulk liquids in standard freight containers, has been published by UK-based international standards organisation, BSI Group.

Braid launches Agi-tank

Braid has introduced a new, single-trip flexitank designed for high-viscosity bulk liquids and those with a high solids content that require mixing for discharge. COA commissions flexitank standard

The Container Owners Association (COA) has commissioned the UK’s national standards body, the British Standards Institution (BSI), to develop a standard for the manufacture and testing of flexitanks. A Publicly Available Specification (PAS 1008) is expected to be released later this year.
