China’s ports see 8.1% YoY volume growth in early 2024
NewsLast year, all the Chinese ports handled 16.97 Bt, having exceeded their 2022 volume by nearly 8%. Shanghai throughputs surged, Hong Kong saw a downfall.
1 mill TEU+ of new box capacity for China?
If current plans come to fruition, at least 1 mill TEU/year of new dry freight container manufacturing capacity will come on stream in China over the next 12 months, pushing total global capacity close to 5 mill TEU/year.
