In the face of continued overcapacity in the world tank container fleet, lessors are striving to get more out of their assets. Repositioning costs and idle time have been identified as the chief enemies

The main feature of the tank container industry, as it has been for the last five years, continues to be fleet overcapacity. While there has been some consolidation amongst the ranks of tank manufacturers, lessors and operators in recent years, many believe the process of shaking out the excess capacity is still far from complete.
