Hot on the heels of Toll Holdings’ bid for New Zealand’s Tranz Rail, which looks increasingly likely to succeed (see WorldCargo News June 2003, p11), there is growing speculation that the company is in discussions with RailAmerica over the possible purchase of Melbourne-based Freight Australia (FA).
