Carriers invoke Force Majeure as ships begin to pile up off East and Gulf coasts
NewsContainer shipping companies, including CMA CGM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and COSCO, are invoking force majeure due to the impacts of ongoing ILA strike.
Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of CMA CGM, said it will be the end of 2017 when the carrier is able to start offering cargo tracking services to customers using the Traxens hardware and software. CMA CGM is an investor in Traxens, and previously announced that its “flagship vessel”, the 18,000 TEU BOUGAINVILLE, was the first in its fleet to be equipped with Traxens hardware for communicating with sensors on containers and sending data back to CMA CGM’s headquarters in Marseilles.
