More containers for Hub Group in the US

US transport operator Hub Group has increased its container order for 2021 in response to increased demand for its intermodal services. Hub had previously said it would order 2,500 new containers in 2021, on top of its purchase of 3,300 units in 2020.

The company has now ordered an additional 500 dry containers and 150 reefer units, all of which are believed to be US 53ft domestic boxes. Adding 3,000 dry containers in 2021 will increase the firm’s total fleet by 2,750 units, net of retirements.
