Derailment partially blocks Felixstowe


Felixstowe faces at least a week of disruption after an inbound train derailed, causing significant infrastructure damage.

Britain’s busiest intermodal rail terminal, Felixstowe, is partially obstructed due to a derailment. An inbound intermodal train derailed, resulting in considerable infrastructure damage.

As the country’s leading marine sea container terminal, Felixstowe has a significant portion of its rail freight facilities out of service.

Rail freight operations at Felixstowe might be disrupted for at least a week due to the extensive damage.

According to unconfirmed reports, an inbound intermodal train partially derailed on the north spur into the port complex early in the morning and then experienced a severe derailment at points within the port.
