New container loader for paper rolls
Simec Systems has developed a paper roll loader that can be operated remotely.
Simec Systems, part of the Metsi International Engineering Group in Finland, specialises in loading platforms and attachments for loading long and heavy cargo into shipping containers. The company has launched the SK-PR roll bed paper roll loader for quickly loading this cargo into a container, as demonstrated in the video below. The video has been sped up for demonstration purposes – the actual loading process takes closer to 10 minutes.
The SK-PR is based on Simec System’s SK-R pallet loader, which is in use in several applications today. It uses a roller platform that can handle up to 40t in weight (more if required) and can be integrated with buffer conveyors. The loader is designed to be secured to the floor, but as an option can be supplied with hydraulic wheels to make the system moveable. One or more units can be controlled remotely.
The first SK-PR machine is now in operation with a customer in Sweden.
Simec Systems has also developed a “Telescope Loader” for loading palletised goods. This is an automated machine that, the company claims, speeds up the loading process up to 50% compared to standard forklift operation. It features a buffer system that can be integrated with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) and WMS (Warehouse Management System) applications.
