Port Houston names Charlie Jenkins CEO, Gabriela Costa leads ATP, Maersk appoints Lisa Park in UAE, and Erica Calhoun becomes Deputy Executive Director at Port of LA.
Port Houston has announced that Charlie Jenkins has officially taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding long-serving Executive Director Roger Guenther, who retired on 28 August. Jenkins has been with Port Houston for over 30 years, having been named the incoming CEO in April 2024. His most recent role was Chief Channel Infrastructure Officer.
Gabriela Costa has been appointed Executive Director of the Association of Private Port Terminals (ATP) in Brazil. She moved to ATP from her role as Executive Secretary at the Brazilian Ministry of Ports and Airports, where she had served since December 2023. At ATP, Costa will work alongside CEO Murillo Barbosa, overseeing strategic planning, internal and external coordination, and administrative and technical functions.
On 1 October, Terminal Puerto Coquimbo (TPC) in Chile will appoint its first General Manager since the start of its concession. Laura Chiuminatto will take over leadership from Cristian Rodríguez, who will assume the role of General Manager at Terminal Pacífico Sur (TPS) in Valparaiso, Chile. Chiuminatto has over 12 years of experience at TPS, most recently serving as Sustainability Assistant Manager.
Maersk has appointed Lisa Park as its new Managing Director for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), effective from 1 October 2024. In her new capacity, Park will also oversee operations in Oman and Qatar. With more than 22 years of experience in the logistics and shipping sectors, she has held various leadership roles within the A.P. Moller-Maersk organisation and its associated brands. Park was previously the Regional Head of Sales for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA) region.
Also at Maersk, Christopher Cook has been named the new Managing Director for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, effective from 1 October 2024. Cook, who most recently held the position of Managing Director for the UAE, Oman, and Qatar, will lead Maersk’s commercial operations across the region.
From 1 November 2024, Anders Tenfält will take on the role of Chief Investment Officer for Stena Line portfolio companies and will join the group management team. Tenfält joined Stena in 2015 as Investment Manager at Stena Adactum and has served as Chief Business Controller for the Stena AB Group since 2019. Stena Line’s portfolio includes Stena Line Travel Group, Sembo, R&F Travel Retail, Baltreiss Agency, Best Travel, Voigt Travel, CustomsLink, Freightlink, and Anglesey Freeport.

Paul Dale, currently the Asset and Site Director at the Port of Tilbury, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Forth Ports, extending his responsibilities across the group. Dale will continue to serve on the Executive Management Board. He has been with Forth Ports since 1989, beginning his career as a marine operative at the age of 19. Additionally, Carole Cran, Chief Commercial and Financial Officer and a main board director, has announced her decision to step down to pursue opportunities outside the company. Cran, who joined Forth Ports in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer, will depart in November after the company completes its annual business planning. The search for her successor is already underway.
Trans Global Projects (TGP) has appointed Ben Taylor as General Manager for its UK business. With over 20 years of experience in project cargo and shipping, Taylor will oversee daily operations and the future development of the UK business, aiming to strengthen TGP’s leading position in project logistics and capitalise on new opportunities in the energy transition sector.
As part of ongoing investments in Pembroke Port, the Port of Milford Haven has welcomed David Stubbins as its new Marine Support Officer, with a focus on supporting cargo, heavy lift, and renewable vessels on the Milford Haven Waterway.
The Port of Los Angeles has appointed Erica M. Calhoun as its Deputy Executive Director, responsible for overseeing the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department’s Administrative Bureau. Calhoun will manage the Port’s human resources functions for its nearly 900 employees, as well as Risk Management, Contracts & Purchasing, and the Commission Office. She will serve as Acting Executive Director in the absence of the port’s Executive Director, Gene Seroka.
Associated British Ports (ABP) has named Andrew Dawes as the new Regional Director for Humber, succeeding Simon Bird upon his departure at the end of October. Dawes will join the Executive team and report directly to Henrik L. Pedersen, ABP’s CEO. He began his career at the Southampton Container Terminal and has built nearly 30 years of experience in the global ports and terminals industry, working with companies such as DP World, APM Terminals, and ICTSI.
Swedish shipping company Furetank has announced that Björn Stignor will assume the role of CEO from 1 October 2024. Stignor returns to Sweden after spending 13 years in Singapore with Stena. Former CEO Lars Höglund will continue as Chairman of the Board. Höglund has a 50-year career in shipping, and under his leadership, Furetank grew from managing two tankers to overseeing a fleet of approximately 20 vessels.
The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) has announced the unanimous appointment of Peter Lantin as Chair of its Board of Directors for a two-year term, effective from 1 July 2024. Lantin, appointed to the Board by the Government of British Columbia in 2019, is now in his second term as a provincial appointee. He has previously served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Sustainability and Audit Committees and remains a member of the Human Resources & Compensation Committee.
Trafigura Group has announced that Richard Holtum will take over as Chief Executive Officer from 1 January 2025 and will join the Board of Directors on 1 October 2024. Jeremy Weir, currently Executive Chairman and CEO, will step down from his executive role on 1 January 2025 but will continue as Chairman of the Trafigura Group.
The Board of Directors of Pacific Basin Shipping Limited has announced that Michael Tonnes Jorgensen has resigned from his position as Chief Financial Officer and as a member of the executive committee.
The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has named Anne Reinke as its new President & CEO, succeeding Joni Casey, who will retire at the end of the year. Reinke joins IANA after four years as President & CEO of the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). Before her time at TIA, Reinke spent two years as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation and 16 years at CSX Corporation.
The Australian Government has announced Kaylene Dale as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), effective from 1 October 2024. Dale brings extensive experience in Commonwealth regulatory settings and the maritime sector, including working with AMSA’s search and rescue functions during her time at the Australian Border Force, where she has held several leadership roles, most recently as Deputy Commissioner for Strategy and Capability.
