Tsubaki Kabelschlepp, a German manufacturer of cable carriers, chain-compatible cables, and conveyor and protection systems, has introduced a new aluminium hole stay system for its LG series.

According to the company, the new product enhances the service life of the cable carrier and the sustainability of the overall system. Other advantages include “optimum routing of heavy cables and hoses in the neutral bending line, highly flexible 1-mm increments, and ease of installation and servicing.”

Kid glove

“The less strain placed on cables and hoses within a cable carrier, the longer their lifespan,” explains Werner Eul, Head of Industry & Product Management at Tsubaki Kabelschlepp. “Our aluminium hole stays are, proverbially, like a kid glove in this regard. The use of high-quality aluminium ensures particularly gentle guidance of cables and hoses. This reduces maintenance efforts, minimises downtime, and significantly contributes to sustainability due to the extended service life of the components.”

The aluminium hole stays are tailored specifically to the application at hand, considering the number, diameter, and position of all cables within the cross-section. This results in optimal guidance in the neutral bending zone.

Tsubaki Kabelschlepp highlights that using the customised dividers offers the benefit of minimising relative movements between cables/hoses and the stay, ensuring optimum guidance at all times.

“Depending on the application, we provide our customers with hole stays in either a divided version or a single-part version,” Eul further explains. “This allows for ideal guidance even for larger hoses, such as those used in hydraulic applications. And with our 1-mm increments up to 1,500 mm, we can perfectly adapt the hole stays to the available space.”

VS or HS

Screw connections make it easy to release the stays, both inside and outside, providing quick access to the cable carrier and allowing for fast and simple installation of cables and hoses. The stay arrangement can be selected to suit the specific application – either fully stayed (VS) on each chain link or half-stayed (HS) on every other chain link. In addition to the classic round version, other cross-sections are also available, such as those designed for flat cables.

“With the aluminium hole stays, we offer an innovative solution that enhances the service life and sustainability of our cable carrier systems and can be flexibly adapted to meet customer requirements,” summarises Werner Eul. “Thanks to their robust design, the stays are also ideal for use in heavy-duty applications, such as steelworks or other harsh environments.”
