The 70,000th Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractor has rolled off the line in Kansas.
Kalmar held a celebration at its Ottawa Kansas plant this week to mark the final assembly of the 70,000th Ottawa tractor, which is destined for Penske Truck Leasing.
Kalmar’s 70,000th machine rolled off the line less than four years after the 60,000th machine was delivered, which was in July 2015. It will join Penske’s extensive fleet of lease and rental equipment.
Paul Rosa, Senior Vice President, Procurement and Fleet Planning, Penske Truck Leasing said: "Penske Truck Leasing is pleased to take delivery of the 70,000th unit from our valued supplier Kalmar Ottawa. We commend Kalmar Ottawa on this milestone and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide our customers with the most reliable and innovative trucks for their fleets."
"We continue to lead the market because of our dedicated employees, large dealer network, customer centricity and superior offering,” said Doug Queen, VP Solution Sales, Kalmar Ottawa Terminal Tractor. “We invented the terminal tractor in 1958 and now the Kalmar Ottawa name is the most widely known terminal tractor brand in the country, synonymous with the highest quality, value and reliability. Penske Truck Leasing has purchased a significant number of our trucks over the years, so we’re honoured to share this important milestone with them."
Kalmar now also offers a fully electric version of the Kalmar Ottawa T2, called the T2E, with a fully electric, powertrain that produces zero emissions at source.
