APM Terminals Italy poaches COO from Contship Italia group

Raffaello Cioni has been appointed COO of APM Terminals Vado Ligure SpA, the company set up by APMT to run its forthcoming semi-automated container terminal in the Port of Savona Vado

Raffaello Cioni has joined APM Terminals Vado Ligure from Contship Italia, where he worked for 15 years in various ports and capacities, finishing as Commercial Director of the Group. Cosco Shipping Ports has a 40% stake in APMT Vado Ligure, with Qingdao Port International Development holding a further 9.9% stake, leaving APM Terminals with 50.1%.

 

Eligio Fontana and Michele Giromini were recently appointed Chairman and Managing Director respectively of TCD Terminal, part of Dario Perioli SpA and a new concessionaire in the Port of Marina di Carrara in Italy.

San Francisco, USA: CS Leasing, provider of a wide range of intermodal lease and equipment solutions to global operators, shippers and logistics providers, has announced the appointment of Mike Krengle as Vice President of Operations. This latest addition to the senior management team comes as the company continues to grow its customer base with a global portfolio of container equipment, finance and lease services to meet ongoing demand. He has previously worked in a variery of roles for companies including Hoyer, Cronos, Silver Inspection Services and Stolt-Nielsen. The post is based in Houston, Texas.

 

The management of the HHLA Real Estate, part of German port and intermodal operator HHLA,has been restructured. Matthias Funk is now responsible for commercial and sales activities, and Rainer Schluff is taking over the technical area and the project development. Matthias Funk has worked in real estate at HHLA for more than five years as managing director of Fischmarkt Hamburg-Altona GmbH. Rainer Schluff comes from the Max Bögl Foundation in Hamburg, where he held the position of Division Manager Construction and Branch Manager for Hamburg.

Bernard Ebner will join Austria’s Rail Cargo Group (RCG) on 1 September to head up its intermodal division. Presently he is Managing Director of Berger Logistik GmbH and has more then 30 years experience in rail-based logistics, including time with Schenker & Co AG. RCG plans to double its volume by 2025, including new intermodal connections to the ports of Trieste, Piraeus and Antwerp, while more connections with Asia will be added.

 

Following the appointment of Peter Hanke to Vienna city council (Stadtrat) as Councillor for Fnance, Economy, Digitalisation and international affairs, Kurt Gollowitzer has been appointed as Managing Director, Finance and Project Management for Wien Holding, which owns the trimodal Port of Vienna, Twin City Liner, and inland navigation company DDSG Blue Danube, amongst others.

The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has appointed Casey Hehr to lead its Security Division. Hehr joined the port in November 2016 as Assistant Director of Security and was appointed acting director of the division in March. Prior to joining the port, he served with the US Coast Guard for more than 20 years, and retired as the Chief of Operations and Response for the Los Angeles-Long Beach Sector.

 

Berlin, Germany: Rail technology company Bombardier Transportation has announced that Paul Brown is the new managing director for their operations in Australia. “This management change is made as Bombardier undertakes a number of positive transformation initiatives to strengthen its business in key rail ecosystems,” said Per Allmer, President, Western Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia and Australia, Bombardier Transportation.

 

The presidency of IUMI - the International Union of Marine Insurance -is for a four-year term. The present incumbent, Dieter Berg, ends his full term at this year’s IUMI annual conference in Cape Town and will formally hand over the position to his designated successor, Richard Turner, on Wednesday 19 September 2018. Turner is Global Marine Director and European Director of Global Risk Solutions at RSA Insurance Group.

 

Xpediator, a UK-based logistics management company, has appointed Stuart John Howard as Chief Financial Officer of the Group. He will replace Richard Myson, with effect from 1 September, 2018. Myson’s intended retirement from the Group was announced earlier this year.

 

London, UK: Hermes Logistics Technologies has appointed Jacek Lechocki as Head of Products and Services, as it continues to roll out its innovative new version, Hermes 5 (H5), globally. Hermes began the global roll out of H5, which it says is capable of running within any Cloud, earlier this year.
