Broekman flags 2Mth tonne for Sea-Cargo

The Netherlands and Brazil ink cooperation deal on green port development.

Construction work has started on a container depot located next to Hutchison Ports’ ECT Euromax terminal in the Maasvlakte area of the port of Rotterdam.

Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges, which are Europe’s two largest container ports, have both suffered declines in their throughputs for the first nine months of 2023. Overall traffic at both ports was also down on the same period of 2022.

The Netherlands and Colombia are preparing a treaty to intensify bilateral cooperation in the fight against drugs trafficking.

As a result of the war in Ukraine, cargo tonnage through the Port of Rotterdam decreased by 1.5% in Q1 2022. In a statement, the Port of Rotterdam said it handled 113.5 Mt in Q1 2022 compared with 115.2Mt in Q1 2021.

As reported by WorldCargo News Online, Hutchison Ports’ European flagship terminal, ECT Rotterdam, has made an important break with its purchasing tradition by moving away from ZPMC and turning to Sany for three large STS cranes for its Delta Dedicated Terminal Southside (ex-DDE and ex-DDW).
