ContainerWeight launches new database

Intercomp, the US-based weighing technology system supplier, has installed its weigh-in-motion scales at a US intermodal rail terminal.

ICTSI has invested more than US$20M in IT at its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) in the last 10 years. 

Patrick Terminals in Australia is using technology to identify containers with a misdeclared Verified Gross Mass (VGM) and then weigh them correctly. But shippers and freight forwarders are not happy with the process or the fees Patrick is charging.

With bulk cargo, maximum weights and even the capacity of the container itself are typically reached before a container is full. For both highway and ocean freight companies, this can mean overweight charges having to be paid.

ConFoot Ltd has developed a version of its container legs with integrated scales for weighing containers.
