Alongside the Kalmar Hybrid Straddle Carriers, Kalmar Electric Forklifts are used in break-bulk operations to handle cargo such as steel, cement and lumber.
The two Kalmar electric straddle carriers will feature batteries with an operation time of 45–50 minutes and a charging time of five to six minutes.
The equipment will be deployed at ITC’s Somerton Intermodal Terminal, a multipurpose terminal currently being constructed in Melbourne, Victoria.
The Port of Salalah has taken delivery of the first four cranes in a series of 10 super-post panamax STS cranes being manufactured by ZPMC. The remaining cranes will arrive at Oman’s largest container port in Q2 2024 with all units fully commissioned in the third quarter of the year.
