DFDS scales up

The international transport network of Ekol Logistics has 3,700 employees and logged sales of DKK 3.5B (EUR 470M) in 2023.

Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG is expanding its intermodal rail services in Sweden and will from mid-January be including calls at Hallsberg, Norrköping and Stockholm Norra (Rosersberg, which is located about 30km north of the city). Previously, Kombiverkehr’s operations in the country were confined to terminals in Gothenburg, Malmö and Trelleborg.

DFDS, which operates one of the most extensive freight and passenger ferry networks in the North Sea, Baltic and eastern Mediterranean regions, is expanding its reach into the western Mediterranean (Strait of Gibraltar).

ECO CATANIA and ECO MALTA will operate Grimaldi’s regular dedicated ro-ro freight service between Italy and Greece.

Cargotec-owned MacGregor has won a significant repeat order worth more than €20M for comprehensive packages of ro-ro equipment for a total of five PCTC vessels.

Belgian rail freight company Lineas and ferry operator DFDS have launched an intermodal rail shuttle between the port of Ghent, part of North Sea Port, and Lyon in France
