Lo-lo container throughput at Sweden’s biggest port in the nine months to the end of September increased by 20% to 560,000 TEU
The increase reflects continuing recovery following business losses due to damaging industrial action in 2017. The recovery is continuing as the increase in H1 2018 was 19%. Hinterland shipment of containers by rail to and from the port increased by 7% to to 283,000 TEU.
Rolling traffic was stable at 439,000 units, while year-to-date shipments of new cars increased 4% to 209,000 CEU, although there was a levelling out in September.
Energy products traffic totalled 17.7 Mt, up 2% on the corresponding period last year.
