10 heavy FLTs will go to C.Ro Ports SA; and an Indonesian customer will shortly receive the first Eco reach stacker in the country
Kalmar will supply C.Ro Ports SA, part of CLdN, with eight Kalmar heavy duty forklifts for use in three of its European terminals. The order, which includes a Kalmar Complete Care service contract covering all the machines, was booked in Cargotec’s Q2 2019 order intake with delivery scheduled to be completed during Q4 2019.
Three machines will go to C.Ro Ports’ terminal in Belgium, two its terminals in the Netherlands and three to the UK. They are part of the company’s fleet renewal programme.
Paul Van Malderen, COO of C.Ro Ports, said: “We have been using Kalmar machines for many years and have always appreciated their quality and reliability. The Stage IV compliant engine technology in the new forklifts will help us to reduce emissions in the terminals and meet our sustainability targets, while the reverse warning system and speed limiters will ensure we maintain our excellent safety standards.”
Kalmar has also signed a contract with Cikarang Dry Port for the delivery of the first Kalmar Eco reach stacker in Indonesia. Delivery is imminent. Kalmar works locally with PT Indo Traktor Utama to provide local services and strategic support for the customers.
We are excited by the reduced fuel consumption promised in daily operation," said Benny Woenardi, Managing Director of PT Cikarang Inland Port, terminal operator of the Cikarang Dry Port. "Other than cost, it is also better for our working environment. We believe the combined effect would be beneficial for our business and environment. And it is also in line with our mission for green operations."
Launched in 2018, Kalmar Eco reach stacker is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while guaranteeing high performance for the customers. Kalmar has informed WorldCargo News that it is still offering its "Fuel Saving Solution," which comes with "money back" guarantees if fuel savings agreed in the contract are not met.
