The contract is valued at US$46.4M ($1.78M per RTG). 24 of the RTGs will be deployed at Wando Welch terminal, with two machines going inland to the SCPA’s Inland Port Greer rail facility. Greer handled 9,577 rail moves in April, and in the port’s fiscal year to date (starting July 2017) has handled 96,937 lifts.

The order continues the longstanding relationship between the SCPA and Konecranes. It is the sixth order the port has placed with Konecranes, and will take the total number of RTGs delivered to the port to 79 since the first order was placed in 1998.

When the 26 machines are delivered the SCPA will have a fleet of 79 Konecranes RTGs
