MoorMaster again for Helsinki

Cavotec secures a US$ 5 million order for shore power units from a global shipping company, facilitating easy vessel connections to reduce port pollution.

There are shortages in car carrying capacity, especially in China, where the export of electric vehicles has soared in the past two years.

The equipment will be deployed at ITC’s Somerton Intermodal Terminal, a multipurpose terminal currently being constructed in Melbourne, Victoria.

APM Terminals MedPort Tangier (APMT Tangier), which is a major customer of Cavotec’s automated mooring system, has concluded a deal that will see the group service all of its MoorMaster NxG units and Power Units at the facility.

Cavotec, the Lugano (Switzerland)-based electrification solutions company that aims to help ports and industrial sites decarbonise, has signed a new contract with an existing customer, but undisclosed European-headquartered container shipping company, to retrofit more of its vessels with equipment that will enable it to use shore power-based solutions.

Based on the new long-term agreement, Cavotec will provide preventive maintenance for more than 60 ocean-going vessels equipped with Cavotec shore power systems
