ConFoot Ltd has developed a version of its container legs with integrated scales for weighing containers.
At the Intermodal Exhibition in Rotterdam this week Finland-based ConFoot displayed a new version of its container legs with an integrated load cell and weighing system for weighing containers to meet the SOLAS Verified Gross Mass requirement.
Attached to the lower corner castings, ConFoot’s CFP legs can be used to support a shipping container at a dock or loading bay. Once the legs are fitted, the truck lowers the air suspension of its trailer and drives away, leaving the container behind to be unloaded.
The ConFoot CFW set comes with an accompanying application for use with smartphones and tablets, enabling easy weighing and reporting. ConFoot is using certified load cells and is now in the process of having the complete system certified as an accurate weighing method. This is expected to be completed next year, with the first commercial deliveries in the fall of 2019.
“Priced in the region of 6 500 euros per set of 4 CFW legs, and being the only portable, totally location independent option for container weighing, ConFoot CFW is the most versatile and cost-effective solution in the market,” ConFoot stated.
