People on the move – new CFO for Zeamarine

Germany-based multi-purpose shipping company Zeamarine has announced the appointment of Chad Call (photo left) as its new CFO, replacing Michael Dumas, who has stepped down after overseeing the formation of Zeamarine from Zeaborn and Intermarine. Dumas, who was CFO of Intermarine for over 20 years, remains on the Board of Zeamarine and is still a shareholder in US Ocean and Maritime Holdings.

 

The Argentinian Port of Rosales Consortium (CPR) has its first President. Guillermo Burgos, who was already a port delegate, has assumed the post at the head of the management consortium just two months after the position was created.

 

The Board of Directors of API Ensenada, Mexico has appointed Juan Ramón Ruíz Armenta as its new Managing Director. He replaces Luz Alicia Iturbide Garay, who was recently promoted to the post of General Director of Port Development and Administration at the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine of the Transport Ministry. Ruíz Armenta has has served as the Administration and Finance Manager at API Ensenada since March this year.

 

Oslo, Norway: Yara Marine Technologies, the Norwegian-based scrubber supplier, has announced a change of leadership as Dr Thomas Koniordos has been appointed as the company’s new CEO. Koniordos, who up until 18th of September served as Yara’s Head of Environmental Solutions, and also as Chairman of the Yara Marine Board, will succeed Peter Strandberg, the company’s founder. Strandberg will continue to be part of the YMT Management Team as Chief Technical Officer, heading up the company’s business development initiatives with new market segments and technologies.

From 1 November, Milembe Mateyo will be Harbour Master of Amsterdam, State Harbour Master North Sea Canal and Director of the Central Nautical Management. She will head the Harbour Master’s Division, which carries out the nautical tasks of Port of Amsterdam. Ms Mateyo has worked for Port of Amsterdam since 2009 as head of the Spatial Planning and Environment department and previously as strategic advisor to the Harbour Master’s Division.

 

Kai Hansen has been appointed Senior Commercial Manager, Inland at DP World Germany, a post based in Hamburg. Hansen has worked in the past for Contargo and Alcotrans and his most recent position was Managing Director of Neska Schiffahrts –und Speditionskontor GmbH in Duisburg and of Neska Intermodal GmbH in Hamburg.

 

Marseilles, France: Rémi Julien has been appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of MGI effective October 1st, succeeding Jaap Van Den Hoogen. Julien’s first objectives as CEO is to accelerate the development of the company and the deployment of the Ci5 Cargo Intelligent System in France and internationally. He has a 20-year track record in strategic and operational management.

The long-standing Chairman of DSV, Kurt K Larsen, is stepping down. “All good things must come to an end, as they say, and I believe we have a very strong team in place to take the company forward,” he said. Larsen joined DSV in 1989 and became CEO in 2008, four years after DSV divested Miljo. Larsen will be succeeded as Chairman by Thomas Plenborg, a member of the Board since 2011 and Larsen’s deputy.

 

Steve Filipov, who was CEO of the former Terex MHPE (Gottwald,  Terex reach stackers and Fantuzzi Noell brands that are now part of Konecranes), has been appointed CEO of US-based Manitex International, replacing David Langevin in the post, while Langevin becomes Executive Chairman, focusing on strategic planning. Manitex International currently does not have any port handling equipment in its portfolio, although it is a former owner of CVS Ferrari. Filipov left Demag Cranes Ltd in August, after Tadano completed its acquisition of Demag Mobile Cranes from Terex.

 

TIP Trailer Rental, an I Squared Capital Company, has increased its Supervisory Board of Directors to eight members by appointing Detlef Borghardt. His appointment was effective 13 September 2019. As a Supervisory Board member of Cube Transportation Europe Coöperatief UA - TIP’s senior holding company - Borghardt will advise the Board of Directors of TIP on behalf of I Squared Capital. Borghardt is a senior executive and former CEO of SAF-HOLLAND SA.

 

The Britannia P&I Club is boosting its presence in Singapore with several new appointments: Francis Church (regional underwriter); Daphne Chua (P&I and FD&D service); Jacob Daamgard (loss prevention); and Katherine Lee (compliance officer).
