Reachstacker fire in Auckland

Linked InTwitterFacebookeCard

Local reports show the machine ablaze at the port on Monday, 1 October. The cause of the fire is not known, but bystanders said they heard a loud bang immediately before the machine caught fire. The driver was taken to hospital with burn injuries.

This is the second fire on a Hyster container handler in New Zealand this year. In May a stevedore was injured at Port Otago in the South Island when a Hyster empty handler caught fire. The driver operating the machine was injured tripping when getting out of the cab after noticing the fire.
