People on the move - Maersk loses another senior officer

A second senior manager, after Soren Toft (COO), is set to leave the A P Møller Maersk group. Carolina Dybeck Happe (pictured left) is quitting her post as CFO after just 10 months in post. She joined Maersk in January 2010. It was announced that she would leave by the end of November 2020, but GE has stated that she could join them as CFO and SVP in early 2020. She will relocate to General Electric’s Boston, Mass head office.


Florida, USA: Jacksonville port authority (Jaxport) has appointed Deborah Lofberg as foreign trade zone manager. In this position, Lofberg is in charge of Jaxport’s foreign trade zone No. 64, serving existing customers and attracting new businesses to the FTZ. She has more than four decades of experience working in senior level corporate positions, including more than 30 years in the transportation and logistics industry.


As of 1st December, Aldo Antonio Signorelli Bonomo became the new Managing Director of Chile’s Coquimbo Port Company. He replaced interim appointee Mariella Eugenia Barra Marchant, who has reverted to her duties at head of Administration and Finance. Since August, she has stood in for Claudio Ormeño, following his resignation. Signorelli, who manages the only Chilean public port in the Coquimbo Region, inherits two major projects: developing Berth 3 and upgrading the coastal area.

Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Ashley Curnow as its new Head of Operations for its largest terminal, Humber International Terminal (HIT), part of ABP Humber Ports. Up to now Curnow has been Port Manager of Grimsby, ABP Humber Ports. HIT in Immingham is the world’s largest biomass handling facility.


Désirée Baer is to take over as CEO of SBB Cargo AG, with effect from the end of March 2020. A manager at SBB infrastructure for the past seven years, Baer will take over from Nicolas Perrin, who will transfer to SBB’s Administrative Board. SBB Cargo, which looks after domestic Swiss rail transport, now has 35% involvement by the private sector.

As of January 1st 2020, Markus Zgraggen will be the new CEO of Crossrail NV Benelux and will also run the newly created “Asset Managements" unit at BLS Cargo. Up to now Zgraggen has been head of production at BLS Cargo. In his new post he replaces Urs Hefti, while the new head of production at BLS Cargo is Stephan Moll.


Albertine Hanin has been appointed EVP, Group Legal & Insurance at Geodis. She becomes a member of the Group’s Management Board, directly reporting to Marie-Christine Lombard, Geodis’ CEO.


Ulm, Germany: Transporeon, one of Europe’s largest software-as-a-service companies, has strengthened its management team through the appointment of Stephan Sieber as its new CEO. The Swiss national (44) took on the position as operational managing director of the cloud-based logistics service provider on 12 November 2019. The two founders Marc-Oliver Simon and Martin Mack remain shareholders in the Group and will shape the future development of Transporeon through active roles on the advisory board.
