Christian Kern (left), a former Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, and Vladimir Andreyevich Puchkov, who was Russia’s Minister of Emergency Situations (Emercom) from 2012 to 2018, have joined the Supervisory Board of Russian State Railways, RZD. Kern is a former CEO of Austrian State Railways (ÖBB) and also a former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ÖBB’s freight affiliate Rail Cargo Austria (RCA). When he was elected to the top post in the Austrian government in May 2016 he gave up all his appointments in relation to the international railways business. Following elections, he had a spell as Leader of the Opposition, but left politics last year to return to the world of business. In 2016, Puchkov, who holds the military rank of General Lieutenant, lent Russian firefigthers to Canada’s Alberta province to help combat raging wildfires.

Zeaborn GmbH & Co KG has announced that one of its founders, Ove Meyer, has resigned from all his management positions at Zeaborn and Zeamarine, although he will remain as managing partner of Zeaborn Holding. “It has been more than six exciting and intense years, during which we built up Zeaborn through takeovers, mergers and post-merger integrations into a globally active shipping company in commercial and technical management," said Meyer, who added that he will be taking a break "to look after some other important matters that have been short-changed over the past couple of years. After that, I will pursue some new challenges.”
