People on the move – new CFO for Port of Rotterdam

Yuri Tsvetkov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation and Head of Rosmorrrechflot, has been elected as Chairman of the Council of Maritime Inland Water Transport of the Coordinating Transport Meeting (CCC) of the CIS countries, attended by representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. The appointment was announced by Yuri Kostin, Deputy Chairman of the CCC.

 

Vivienne de Leeuw (pictured left) has been appointed CFO of Rotterdam Port Authority, with effect from July 1st 2019. Succeeding Paul Smits, she is a former CFO of RTL Nederland and KPN Consumer Residential.

 

Marcelo Horacio Gentili, a lawyer by training, has been appointed as head of the new post of Provincial Direction of Port Activities at the Ministry of Production in Buenos Aires. In this post, he is responsible for the planning and supervision of the port network in the province, as well as overseeing management operations.

 

As of june 1st 2019, Alexander Rieke has been appointed joint Managing Director of Germany-based ship owner and ship manager Reederei Harmstorf & Co, working alongside Thomas Meier-Hedde. Rieke joined the company in 2010 and was appointed a director in 2017. Together with Schlüssel Reederei KG GmbH & Co, Harmstorf manages a fleet of around 100 vessels.

 

Eddie Green has been appointed Head of all Cold Chain business, DFDS Seaways, a post based in the UK, effective from September this year. Green’s position as Head of Logistic Services, based in Copenhagen, will be taken by Niklas Anderssons.

 

ECG, The Association of European Vehicle Logistics, recently announced the election and re-election of Board members at its 24 h Spring Congress & General Assembly in Sorrento, Italy. Most of the existing Board were re-elected for a further term and three new Board members were elected. Board member and Chairman of the Quality Working Group René Eisbrich (Lagermax) stood down. The new Board members are Serge Agneray (Groupe Charles André); Jordi Casals (Bergé); and Xavier Vazquez (Noatum Maritime Automotive). This brings the Board up to the maximum 15 members.

Nijmegen, Netherlands: Alewijnse has appointed Christel Pullens as Global Director Sales & Marketing. She has 22 years of international experience in the maritime sector, with companies such as Wärtsilä, Dockwise and Damen Shiprepair & Conversion.

 

New York, NY, USA: In a recent circular to Members of the American P&I Club, its Managers, Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc (SCB), announced the recruitment of Daniel A Tadros to the position of Chief Legal Officer, being a key addition to SCB’s senior management team. Tadros will join SCB on July 1, 2019, following his departure from his current position as admiralty partner, and marine practice area coordinator, at Chaffe McCall, LLP, a leading maritime law firm in New Orleans.

 

John Stubbings, group director and company secretary at the Woodland Group, has succeeded Mark Bromley as the elected National Chair of BIFA, the British International Freight Association, for a two-year period. Bromley becomes Immediate Past Chair for a two-year term. Rachel Morley, general manager for operations at BIFA member company, Spatial Global, has been elected Vice-Chair by the BIFA Board. Joining the Board as a Director is Charles Hogg, commercial director of Unsworth Global Logistics. He replaces Andrew Melton of Ligentia, who has stepped down after 14 years’ service on the Board. Melton will continue to assist BIFA in a Council role as Vice President.

 

Ignace van Meenen, a former CEO of Rickmers Holding, has been appointed Chief Sales Officer of international asset manager MPC Capital AG, effective 1st June 2019, with a remit to drive growth in real estate and infrastructure. The post is based in Hamburg, Germany. Van Meenen, a Belgian citizen, has a background in investment banking and asset management.
