Two more cranes for APM Terminals Barcelona

The facility has taken delivery of two 23-wide STS cranes formerly deployed by APM Terminals in Los Angeles

The cranes arrived full-erect from China, via the Cape of Good Hope, following an overhaul by the manufacturer, ZPMC.

 

With this delivery, APMT Barcelona, formerly the "flagship" terminal of Grub TCB, now has 13 cranes, of which these two are post-NPX, three are super post-Panamax, five are post-Panamax and three are Panamax.

The two cranes have a maximum lift capcity under hook of 100 tonnes and are equipped for twin 20ft lifts. Self-weight of the cranes is 1,683 tonnes.

 

After unloading at the terminal, installation, commissioning and operational adjustment processes, the cranes are expected to be operational during June.


APMT Bareclona recently completed expansion of the CY for reefer containers, increasing capacity by 31% with 152 new connections and also increasing electrical capacity.
