Singapore-based Portek International has won a joint contract with shipping line Pelayaran Nusantara Meratus to operate the Port of Makassar (Ujung Pandang) at the Southern tip of Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.

The contract is for a period of 10 years and is reportedly worth S$3 mill in its first full year of operation, rising to S$6 mill within five years.
