Following Clydeport’s proposed container terminal development at its Hunterston site on the west coast of Scotland, it is now eyeing the Manchester Ship Canal, owned by its parent company, Peel Holdings, to establish a trimodal short sea facility.

At the time of the takeover of Clydeport earlier this year, John Whittaker, chairman of Peel Holdings stated that “It should enable Peel Holdings to expand its port operations with the benefit of Clydeport’s management experience. Peel Holdings will also be able to provide support and assistance to Clydeport’s property development activities.”
