Adani adds in Mundra

India’s Adani Group, which owns Mundra port in the western state of Gujarat, has decided to add two dry bulk berths to the four multi-purpose berths it already operates there. The new berths are expected to cost Rs1.1 bill (US$24 mill) and will be ready for use in around 18 months.

Mundra handled 4.2 mill tons of cargo in the year to March 31, an increase of 25 percent over the previous year. In the current year, the port is expected to handle 6.3 mill tons, rising to its full current capacity of 7.5-8 mill tons the year after.
