The Port of Helsinki’s longmooted move to Vuossari is subject to yet another delay following the discovery of toxins in the seabed from (the now illegal) tin-based, anti-fouling paint. The polluted spoil will probably be disposed of inland in an impervious pit and capped – an expensive solution but one which will minimise further disruption to the construction project.
