New terminal in Ukraine starts operations

Ambitious Ilyichevsk
The Ukrainian port of Ilyichevsk has unveiled a plan to increase container handling capacity from 200,000 TEU (estimated) to 1 mill TEU/year by 2010. Container traffic has been growing strongly at the port and reached 153,000 TEU last year. The project has been conceived jointly with the Transport Ministry in Kiev.
