Kalmar inks forklift deal with BlueScope
NewsAustralian steel producer BlueScope has ordered 13 Kalmar forklift trucks for its Western Port steel processing facility.
Although the waterfront reform issue has long since slipped from public gaze in Australia, the Bureau of Transport and Regional Economics (BTRE) continues to issue its (now) half-yearly Waterline report, which presents what must be the most comprehensive review of an entire country’s port-based logistics performance.
While this intensive self-scrutiny is something of a hangover from the days when Australia topped Strike Club tables and was the bane of ship operators worldwide, Waterline itself has evolved into a valuable dissection of supply chain behaviour.
