Korea’s Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has announced that it is to present its project for a floating port at the 2012 International Expo, which is due to be held in the South Korean city of Yeosu between 12 May and 12 August in that year.

Details released so far suggest that the floating platform will be able to accommodate ultra-large container vessels. The engineering teams involved in the project are aiming to make it possible for ships in the 13,000-15,000 TEU vessels to dock.
