ECT Rotterdam terminals to switch to shore power
NewsHutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam will be equipped with shore power by 2030, connecting 5,000 vessels annually.
A difference in priorities may scupper future chances of cooperation between the Port of Rotterdam (GHR) and Zeeland Seaports (Terneuzen and Vlissingen), GHR’s CEO Hans Smit has admitted. The existing ESM joint venture, originally set up to market vacant land in the two port estates, could be wound up by the end of this year.
Relations within ESM have always been tense, but earlier this year it was mooted that GHR would give up its 50% stake in ESM in exchange for a 25% stake in ZP itself.
