Eleven companies have responded to an invitation to bid for the construction and operation of a new container terminal at India’s New Mangalore port in Karnataka state.

The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) envisages a single 300m berth with a depth alongside of 15m and an annual capacity of 200,000 TEU. Plans call for the berth to be equipped with four ship-to-shore cranes, with two RMGs and two reach stackers in the yard in the initial phase.
