Ports America bags Seagirt concession

The Maryland Port Administration (MPA) has awarded a 50-year concession to Ports America to operate and further develop the 200-acre Seagirt Marine Terminal at the Port of Baltimore.

Under the terms of the agreement, which is subject to approval by the Board of Public Works, Ports America will build a new deepwater berth at the facility that is expected to accommodate the larger vessels that are expected to call at Baltimore when the Panama Canal expansion project is completed in 2014.
